Clinical Practice GuidelinesThese evidence-based clinical practice guidelines were developed with input from a wide array of medical specialties, nurses, and other allied health professionals where appropriate. Policy StatementsPolicy statements are generated from within AAO-HNS/F committees. Once approved by the Academy or Foundation Board of Directors, they become policy and are added to the existing policy statement library. Standards of CarePerformance measures should be based on high quality clinical guidelines that systematically developed and assist practitioners and patients in decision-making about appropriate care. Each medical specialty society has a process in place for reviewing and evaluating clinical evidence and creating guidelines for treating conditions relevant to that specialty society. Clinical Indicators CompendiumClinical indicators for otolaryngology serve as a checklist for practitioners and a quality care review tool for clinical departments. Continual improvement in these clinical indicators is an ongoing project for our Quality Improvement (QI) Committee. |
