International outreach, worldwide collaboration, and exchange of information and education are the goals for the international program of the Foundation and Academy. With its tradition of a century of education, the AAO-HNS/F is deeply involved in exchange of medical, scientific, and research information with otolaryngologists—head and neck surgeons around the globe.
International Grants and ScholarshipsThe AAO-HNS offers a variety of grants and scholarships to aid and encourage those who further the mission of otolaryngology on an international scale. Scientific Journal Reaches around the GlobeSubscribers to our scientific journal, Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, can access the journal online from anywhere in the world, read articles before their mailed version reaches them, receive advance notice of upcoming articles, and search back issues by author or article for their research. International Corresponding Societies (ICS)Past Coordinator for International Affairs, Eugene N. Myers, MD developed a unique program of International Corresponding Societies, who affiliate with the Academy on a peer-to-peer level. Starting with the Spanish Society of ORL-HNS in 1997, the number of societies has grown to 42.
