The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery Foundation has just released new guidelines regarding the proper care and treatment of earwax impaction. This is the first national guideline designed to help healthcare providers manage the more than 12 million people a year who suffer from impacted cerumen (earwax).

For patients, the Academy has created new fact sheets regarding earwax and at-home care.

Hearing Aid Awareness Week is September 28 - October 4, 2008. Special patient groups need additional attention regarding hearing health and earwax removal.
